Social Media in Today's World - Positive or Negative?

Social media is now the face of online interaction, wouldn't you say?
Social media allows us to receive inputs from strangers, view photos of things we never thought to capture ourselves; it's a place to share thoughts, to make friends, to participate in short contests, and to learn more about your city, or places you'd like to travel.

When you really sit back and think about it, social media has become a HUGE piece of our daily lives. How many of us have Twitter, or Facebook on our phones now? How many of us check out Facebook at least once a day? It really is a great tool, it is keeping long lost friends in touch, and helping us make new ones. It's providing us with a sense of community, belonging and importance, and most of us, it's letting us be us in front of the world!

Social media is extending these same features to businesses, and it's FREE!

As a business owners myself, I pose this question to other owners, managers, employees: how important do you think social media is? Is the constant updating, the interaction 24/7 and the vulnerability a positive or a negative thing for a company? For those of you that do interact on social media, do you think that it is befitting your company? Any other questions or comments you'd like to to share would be great!

At Fishman's we have been around for 70 years, and we on our third generation! We are so proud to be a part of the Calgary community, and look forward to another 70 years, as we are just starting to dip our toes into the online social media world! Tell us how you feel about us through our social media either through Facebook, Twitter or in particular Linked In. We are hoping to turn our Linked In profile to  a business profile - please endorse us so we can upgrade - and stay tuned for all of our news!

We'd love to hear your responses about the importance and tips and tricks for using social media in the business community....AND on the side you could be receiving updates on our upcoming contests!

See ya out there tweeting :)

The NEW Bow Building in Calgary & Fishmans

Come see us at the Bow Building in downtown Calgary!

The unique architecture of this building is not only eye catching but BEAUTIFUL and Fishman's Personal Care Cleaners is PROUD to be a part of it.

Views from up high and down low are both breathtaking. At Fishman's we want the our area to represent the uniqueness that the Bow Building is, which is why we strive for our business to be just as breath taking as all the other views. Our back splash truly amazes me!

The two companies inside the Bow Building are Cenovus and Encana, they have the luxury of seeing some of the most spectacular views of Calgary everyday.......AND NOW.....Fishman's has now entered the building too! We are so thrilled to be a part of this unique building and can't wait for you to be too!

Bettina Gemsa from Cenovus  is a Fishman's fan, look at that amazing view! Looking forward to seeing you more often Bettina!
